3 things to look for while buying sports shoes

When it comes to selecting a good pair we often stumble. We tend to gravitate towards brands we know or brands that we have used for a long time or brands that our friends recommend. We at The Shoe Factory believe that a good pair of shoes with good soles and flexibility will last you a long time. But these are just the most basic steps.

The first thing not on the list is to never rush when buying shoes. Yes, they are just shoes who care, but you should! A bad pair can not only cause blisters but an uneven gait or a fall can cause fractures.

So, let’s begin.
The first thing to look for is to make sure the shoe fits well. It should not be too tight or too loose. A too-tight shoe will make your feet ache whereas a too loose shoe will make you trip or cause blisters at the back of your feet or a lost shoe like our favorite Cinderella. When trying on a pair at the store make sure that there is enough room for your toes to wiggle. This guarantees at least half an inch space. It will reduce your shoes from smelling from sweat as well.

Second but an equally important function to look at, is check the soles. A good sole should be sturdy, provide stability and not be too soft either. If you are a runner or a person who likes to jog, go for a softer sole to avoid blisters and cracking. But if you are gym workout type-a-person try using medium- hardness soles. The reason is that the floors and machines like treadmills and cycles demand a more stable and lower flexibility shoe. A good test to know when the sole is too-soft is to try walking or jogging in place when you try on the shoe. Your feet should not sink into the sole, should not slip and most importantly not be loose. A soft sole can lead to sprains when running on a treadmill.

The third part to focus on when buying a good pair is the main body of the shoe. It should be soft enough to not claustrophobe your feet and should be made with a breathable fabric. A piece of breathable fabric prevents your feet from overheating and allows fresh air from entering the shoe. These days brands like Nike and Adidas make their fabrics with a more mesh-like design.

I hope this has enlightened you when you think of buying a new pair of shoes, be it buying Nike or Adidas shoes online or in-store. These tips will make your shoe buying experience better than ever.
